
CLIENT BRIEF:
To install a new belt for an instant quick freeze line to replace the damaged belt. The previous belt was suffering from damage caused to the vee ropes. Our customer wanted us to assess the root cause of this and find a solution to reduce the downtime that was being caused by constant interventions.
SOLUTION:
Our specialists analysed the damaged vee rope and found that it was caused by excessive liquid from the product, which was causing the vee rope to swell and deteriorate. As the product could not be altered the only solution was to adapt the design of the vee rope to allow the excess liquid to drain away from the belt.
Our service specialists then removed the damaged belt and installed the new belt with redesigned vee rope. The new belt has been running well since, and the excess liquid has been draining away successfully. This has reduced downtime and meant that production on this line could increase.
