CLIENT BRIEF:
Our client asked us to remove the existing transport belt and install the new solid steel belt.
SOLUTION:
Because of the sheer size and weight of the belt, combined with the height of the belt, many meters above the ground, health and safety was of the utmost importance for this installation. Whilst health and safety are always the most important things onsite, on this specific project, it was critical for everyone’s safety. Ensuring correct PPE and safety equipment were worn at all times and correct procedures were being adhered to, our specialists de tensioned the line and cut the belt, prior to safely feeding down to ground level and coiling the old belt onto a drum. Following this the belt was fed up using specialist winches up onto the conveyor, prior to welding in situ.
