CLIENT BRIEF:
Our client asked us to remove their old oven band. Whilst the belt was removed, they also asked us to overhaul their existing infeed terminal end and replace it with a PACEmatic auto tracking system to improve tracking.
SOLUTION:
Prior to a scheduled and routine oven band removal and replacement, our client asked if we could overhaul the infeed terminal end as it had been causing tracking issues and causing downtime. Prior to the belt being removed, we designed and built a brand new PACEmatic auto tracking system. We also advised that whilst the works were being carried out a new graphite station should be installed. The graphite station is spring loaded and lubricates the underside of the belt evenly as it runs over the graphite bars. This significantly improves belt lifespan as it reduces band scoring, which leads to cross curvature of the oven band.
Once the new tracking system was assembled. We attended site to cut and remove the existing, worn belt. We then installed the new tracking system, prior to pulling in the new oven belt, welding and finishing the oven band. By combining these two projects into one service visit, we significantly reduced the amount of downtime required and ensured that the line was back running and producing as quickly as possible.
